SUB-PROJECTS
Content
The Content project is key to every other project on this team. This sub team is responsible for gathering and specializing content for each aspect of the VOSS Team. This includes Website, Plaques, Fly-Through, and Small Scale. This content needs to be tailored for each purpose but similar in verbiage, style, and type of information. This will require close work with the other sub teams. Although research may not sound like the most exciting or fun be sure that every ounce of work this project gets done is critical and will be incorporated in some way to the final delivered products.

Educational Plaques
The Plaque sub team will be responsible for the design of the plaques to be put on the model. This is a very time sensitive project with a hard deadline of March 1st. Much of the leg work has been done however and this team would be responsible for polishing the design and refining the layout as well as choosing what sections of content will go where on which plaques.

Fly-Through
The Fly-Through sub team uses AutoDesk Inventor modeling software to create a full digital replica of the model. It will serve as a ‘virtual walkthrough’ for those who may not be able to visit the model or as a preview to what they can expect. This project includes the work on animation, modeling, developing the educational content ties, and tailoring the fly-through for multiple purposes (i.e. a preview to have on website, a standalone virtual walkthrough, a museum quality professional video).

Interactive Design
These three students are the newest addition to the VOSS team. They bring their talents in interactive design to help aid the Plaque project and the the Website project in any way that they can. This will be in helping the projects to look more professional and to also test to see if the material is actually age appropriate.

Public Relations
Social Media & PR will be responsible for updating and redesigning the Facebook and Twitter pages. They will also be able to explore other potentially beneficial social media sites to get involved in as well as designing and creating these pages should it seem advantageous. This sub team will also get to work with the University on trying to promote every aspect of the VOSS Team and get more followers, likes, and general excitement for the grand opening of the model!

Small Scale Model
The Small Scale sub team is working on designing and fabricating a table top version of the model. This model ’s main objective is to be a source for classroom extension of the big model on campus. This small scale model is to give teachers the opportunity to have a board in their classroom, allow the students to interact with the planets and solar system as well as the educational content, and provide a classroom activity to spark the interest of 4-6th grade students.

The Website sub team is responsible for managing the model website. They will be uploading gathered content including all relevant photos, videos, and interactive links. They will be responsible for testing the navigation, ease of interaction, and general feel of the website. Is it professional? Clear? What are the flaws? They will be in charge of the design of any extra pages, tabs, etc. and will take on any challenges they see could better the website such as adding a internal search bar.
